Safe Temperature for Pavement for Dogs

The safe temperature for pavement for dogs to walk on is generally considered to be below 77°F (25°C). At temperatures above this, the pavement can become too hot for a dog's paws and can lead to burns or discomfort. If theres any doubt when exiting car into a parking lot look for the quickest way to get to grass or carry dog to grass.

Electrolytes for Dogs

Electrolytes are important for maintaining hydration, especially during hot weather or after exercise. Consider using specially formulated dog electrolyte solutions or adding a small amount of low-sodium broth to their water. Always consult with a veterinarian before introducing new supplements.

Keeping Up on Regular Grooming

Additionally, grooming provides an opportunity to check for signs of heat exhaustion or skin irritations. There are also several options for dog sunscreen which I recommend if planning on spending the day outside with a new shorter haircut!! I use an all over spray year round on all the dogs that come in the shop but its just like human and needs reapplied if spending the day outside.

Summer seems to get shorter every year, so lets make the most of it!
