Cat Grooming Basics and Beyond

We are going to be adding a Cat Only day once a month (depending on demand) for our feline friends that don't do well with the noisy environment of a normal grooming salon. Starting in May of this year, cat only day will be just that, cats special day in the shop! As always they will get their free enrichments to make the grooming process more tolerable and as fast as possible to make sure its always a pawzitive experience for them! It's not well known the importance of cat grooming from a young age due to many misconceptions and just bad advice from the internet and even well meaning vets. Unless your cat has underlying health issues under direct care from a vet, cats need a BATH!! Some, even like it! Well meaning vets and other pet professionals, may not have spent the extra time and training necessary to give helpful accurate advice and unfortunately cats end up undergoing expensive, sometimes dangerous anesthesia just to get groomed, instead of starting them young to the process. Even short haired cats are very much in need of at least one yearly bath to get them used to the sensations so when they're old and need extra help with basic grooming, they aren't so completely stressed with the process. Set your cat up with success for a life long of healthy fur, pain free and hopefully stress free grooming rituals! I do apply fear free techniques to cats just like the dogs and use my many tricks and enrichments to make the experience as tolerable and enjoyable as possible.
